Avaya Multi Line Phone System
The Avaya Multi-Line Business Phone System is a modern platform of the traditional office phone systems that many organizations continue to use every day. It provides businesses with an easy upgrade path from older legacy systems while preserving the familiar line appearance that employees already understand. Features such as True Hold, simple call transfers, and dedicated line buttons make it ideal for organizations that prefer traditional business telephony. The Avaya 500LN is the line version of the Avaya IP Office platform and, when properly configured, delivers a modern line based PBX solution.

Avaya 500LN
The Avaya 500LN is built on the configurable and scalable Avaya IP Office 500 V2 architecture, giving the Multi line variant all the power of a modern phone system. Available through Telephone System Supply or Avaya Sales directly, this variant is the ideal upgrade path for the Avaya series of legacy phone systems that offices and organizations are still operating.
The Avaya 500LN is configured to use select cards, or what would be considered components, that support traditional analog phones. It can be configured to support phones that operate on a single pair of wires. This combination of components creates an ideal platform for offices and buildings with older, outdated infrastructure, reducing installation costs as well. The phone most often used in this combination is the Avaya 9508 phone. This is a digital dual wire phone, which means it can work on modern cabling, like Cat 5e or Cat 6, while also easily connecting to legacy 25 pair telephone wiring.
It is important to note that none of the Avaya Phone System platforms are a DIY solution and do require Avaya programmers and installers to ensure the proper operation of the phone system.
What is a Multi Line Phone System?
A Multi Line Phone System is a communications platform that internally handles a single analog line and scales to multiple telephone lines. This helps prevent callers from receiving a busy signal when an employee is already on a phone call. The platform provides visual and audible notifications to alert users of incoming calls, and the system can often route calls using internal rules to other users or voicemail.
